Apiary Lexington Wedding | J & H

So we’ve photographed a lot of weddings in a lot of different places. I think we’ve shot in over half of the US and a few countries too. It’s not hyperbole when we say that this wedding venue just a couple hours away in Lexington, Kentucky is one of the most beautiful and interesting we’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing an event at. That venue is The Apiary. When J and H tapped us to document their big day, we ran the requisite search just to get an idea of the vibe at their venue, but images don’t really do this spot justice!

Lots of wedding venues can just feel like a a big room, and that’s about it. Not the case with The Apiary! This luxurious venue features multiple distinct rooms that flow effortlessly from one to the next. We loved not only how guests were allowed to float between the different rooms, but also how visually cohesive and interesting each space was for creative wedding photography. Outside, the building has some lovely garden areas perfect for cocktail hours or just a quiet respite for guests looking to sneak away from the party for a moment. Obviously, we had to take advantage of all that greenery and get plenty of portraits with our bride and groom in the garden!

It’s not just the aesthetics that blew us away at The Apiary. Their in-house culinary team was excellent, from the chefs to the servers, everyone did a fantastic job. As everyone knows, wedding food frequently isn’t very good; the food at The Apiary is so good I’d gladly pay for it at a sit down restaurant when I haven’t been lugging around camera gear for ten hours.

During the winter months couples can expect for a wedding at this venue to start around $4,000.
