Behind the scenes

We thought it might be nice to share some of our favorite photos from our On The Job folder since we’ve never blogged any and when we used to post them to facebook, they were pretty popular. 

Most of the time we take photos of each other for one of two reasons– they’re either test shots to try out the light/specific spot, or one of us is just blatantly in the way and we’re waiting our turn to try something. Or it’s a combination of both. Or sometimes funny things just happen (scroll down for the “Bobby Oberlander: Animal Whisperer” section) and we feel obligated to document it.

Some of these are two or three years old. It’s wild to remember all the different days these photos cover.

We spend our weekends peering into other people’s worlds, so it might seem odd to feel so sentimental while looking through these.

These photos were taken on some of the best days of people’s lives. It’s a nice reminder that we were actually there, experiencing it too, dancing with brides and tromping through fields.

So I definitely got lost in the corn maze for about 10 minutes during a family shoot last fall. Oops!
