Even after doing hundreds of shoots around Charleston, I love finding new ways to see the city in the same familiar places.
I shot Sophie’s older sister’s senior portraits a few years back, so this was the second time I worked with her family. We shot these on a gorgeous autumn day in Charleston, West Virginia. We started on the boulevard, then we went up to Fort Hill, and then finished on the East End.

Gena & Steve. Where do we begin? These two have a sweet, quiet presence about them. They are comfortable in silence, even with two photographers hovering over them with cameras. They love hiking and adventuring in the outdoors and got engaged in Canaan Valley during peak fall foliage a few years back. Their wedding day…
