“Keep your shit together.”
Sage advice for a wedding day, and advice that Shannon kept close to her in the form of an embroidered handkerchief. Luckily for her this JQ Dickinson autumn wedding went off without a hitch. This outdoor wedding featured lots of smiles and happy tears underneath a blue sky, all wrapped up in a warm embrace by those puffy green mountains we know and love here in WV.
It was awesome first getting to know Shannon and Colin during their greenhouse engagement session in Ohio. It was there we learned that they were huge nerds just like us– their dog even shares a name with Final Fantasy X protagonist Tidus. We were stoked to learn they kept the video game references going for their wedding. Shannon gave Colin a pair of Zelda triforce cufflinks and it ruled.
One of the coolest things about Shannon and Colin’s wedding was just how involved their friends were at all levels. Dinner was a delicious spread of various smoked and barbecued meats prepared by a friend, and some of Shannon’s childhood friends whipped up a mouth-watering array of pies for dessert. Shannon’s cousin handled DJ duties.
JQ Dickinson Salt-Works is a lovely location for outdoor wedding ceremonies and receptions. The venue is located within 10 minutes of Charleston, so it’s a great option for couples looking for something a bit different than the ballrooms in the city. You can read more about this venue on our JQ Dickinson venue page or see more WV wedding venues here.
