A Snowy Lewisburg, WV Chocolate Festival Elopement

When Dee reached out to us earlier this year about shooting her elopement, we were instantly on board (because elopements are our jam). But then we read further and learned that this was going to be a taking place in the morning before the Annual Lewisburg Chocolate Festival, and our excitement grew tenfold.
CHOCOLATE. FESTIVAL. ELOPEMENT.
The week of the elopement, the weather forecast started calling for unseasonably cold temperatures. And then it started forecasting snow. But despite the forecast, we were still shocked when we looked out of our hotel room window that morning.
This small group of family was all smiles during this especially frigid ceremony.
I mean, It was the middle of April in West by-god Virginia — I think we were all in awe of this tiny little snow globe-esque ceremony.
In addition to the wacky weather, we also loved this couple’s style. Dee’s dress, their rings, her single king protea flower bouquet, even their suite in the General Lewis Inn…. it was just all so gorgeous.
After the ceremony and some portraits, everyone went inside to thaw, change into warmer clothes, and head back out into downtown Lewisburg to indulge in some seriously decadent chocolate.
There were so many amazing confections available, such as chocolate martinis (yes please), espresso brownies, hot chocolate, and (our personal favorite), the Greenbrier Sporting Club‘s dark chocolate tulip cups with milk chocolate ganache & white chocolate orange blossom yogurt mousse. The Greenbrier Sporting Club also made an insanely gorgeous, intricate sculpture of flowers & insects out of chocolate/magic edible food stuff.
Anyway, here are our favorite photos from this snowy springtime Lewisburg, WV Chocolate Festival elopement…. What a beautiful, cold, delicious, and memorable day it was!
