It’s not unusual for the final few days before your wedding to be busy and a tad stressful. You’re throwing what will probably be the biggest party of your life! There are so many loose ends to take care of. But mere days before Carson and Will’s Lewisburg WV farm wedding, historic floods hit West Virginia.
Chelsa & Chris are some of the sweetest and most adorable people ever. They got married on a swelteringly hot summer day at Blessed Sacrament church in South Charleston, then moved on to have a Marriott Pavilion WV wedding reception.
Amanda & Todd’s West Virginia wedding took place on Leap Day! Their ceremony was at the WVSU Capitol Theater, and the reception was at Black Sheep Burritos.
Jen and Carling are another one of those couples like us who run a business together. We love meeting other business-owning couples because it really takes a special sort of dynamic to make everything work smoothly. If we had a dollar for every time someone has said, “I would KILL my significant other if I worked with them”, well, then, we’d have a lot more money to spend on cat toys at Target. Anyway, Carling and Jen pulled off a sweaty (it was 95 degrees) & sentimental celebration that included so many amazing local vendors. They’re active in the community …
Nolan is the most laid-back dude ever. We initially met Nolan when we shot his sister’s wedding at the Clay Center back in 2010. We were excited to work with Nolan and his family again when he got in touch with us to photograph his JQ Dickinson Salt-Works wedding in Charleston, West Virginia.
We met Amanda & Mark through Julie & Emery, who found us through Kari & Marty. It’s funny how referrals work, how some of our most favorite people can lead to more favorite people and even more favorite people! Anyway, Amanda & Mark got married on a hot and humid summer day at Rustic Acres Farm, just outside of Pittsburgh. Rustic Acres was awesome! Great venue, great staff, and the JCP Event Group food was just amazing. That Heirloom Tomato Harvest Station? It rocked our world. Truly.
Mary Grace and Tony just celebrated their one year anniversary this week, and here we are, just now blogging this beautiful beast of a wedding. We should have shared this set of photos months and months ago, but this day was just so unique, so mold-breaking, and we knew that choosing photos and finding the words was going to take some serious time. How do you sum up the most weirdly wonderful wedding you’ve ever seen?
Ellen and Joel’s February wedding was a fine example of how you don’t need snow to have a perfect wedding day. These two had smiles on their faces all day long! We loved Ellen’s dress and Joel’s herringbone suit, plus the succulents in the floral arrangements, and the brownie wedding cake.
Faith and Josh got married this spring, and it was such a lovely day!
All week long the forecast called for rain. All day long. Buckets and buckets of rain. Every day we’d check a bunch of different weather apps, and all of them said the same thing – basically, “you’re going to drown in rain on Saturday, hope you have decent rain boots!”. But we didn’t have decent rain boots. So we bought some, because many of our weddings in May were rainy and we were tired of scrubbing our shoes clean. And, just like that, it never rained.
