Another super convenient Charleston wedding location! UC is cool because they have a nice rotunda for receptions and the lovely lawn outside that is a perfect space for ceremonies. India Center
This venue has ample parking and its event space as a fine blank canvas that lends itself well to creative wedding planners and designers. We once shot two wedding ceremonies here in one day with the same couple: an Indian ceremony and a traditional American ceremony! It doesn’t have a lot of spots nearby for photos, but we’ve done some cool portraits in the back alley. The Forks of Coal Natural Area is just down the road if you need some good greenspace for your portraits.

West Virginia State Capitol
One of the great inexpensive WV wedding venue options in Charleston! We’ve photographed weddings on the steps outside the capitol and in the rotunda inside. It doesn’t cost anything to get married here, but you’re also at the mercy of legislative sessions and other scheduled events that might take place at the capitol complex.

Woman’s Club of Charleston
This is where we got married! This is a nice, inexpensive option that won’t break the budget if you’re shopping for a Charleston Wv wedding venue. It’s a minimalist French chateau style event space located on the East End that offers an on-site kitchen for outside catering. Historically they’ve had somewhat strict policies on the types of alcohol you can bring in.

Do you like the outdoors? Do you like rustic barns? Benedict Haid might be the spot for you! Worth noting that parking can definitely be an issue if you’re planning on having a lot of guests. The venue is on a hilltop with a gravel road and no dedicated parking area.

This is probably our favorite wedding venue in the entire state! Ceremonies take place on a bluff overlooking the confluence (obviously) of the Gauley and Meadow rivers. Receptions are held in a slick, industrial barn space nearby. The venue is located on sprawling acres of wilderness making it a perfect spot for folks who want to get back to nature during their celebration. The Gaines Estate
We love the flexibility and convenience of the Gaines Estate space! Blackwater Falls State Park
Being one of the most beloved parks in all of West Virginia, Blackwater Falls is an awesome place for weddings and elopements. Both Lindy Point and Pendleton Point are two of the most stunning outdoor ceremony locations you’re going to find in the state. The park has a lodge for indoor receptions with various event rooms depending on your guest list size. Pro tip: bring those hiking boots if you want to get married on Lindy Point, because you’re not going to want to trash your fancy wedding shoes on that very muddy hike!

Snowshoe Mountain Resort
Snowshoe is another great option for folks who want to have a wedding where they never need to leave the resort grounds for anything. There’s a bunch of restaurants here and obviously a ton of things to do– especially if you have your wedding here during ski season! Regardless of when you get married here, the views are jaw-dropping year-round. Pro tip: if you’re vampires like us you’ll want to bring sunscreen because there’s nowhere to hide from the sun outdoors on this mountain! We’ve done weddings up on the lawn at the main lodge and down at the Boathouse on Shavers Lake and both are fantastic.
