This Key Bridge Marriott wedding in Washington, DC featured a ceremony in scenic Georgetown and a reception overlooking the city.

One of the things we always love about shooting weddings in and around Washington, DC is that the city itself almost feels like a guest. It’s such a vibrant area filled with great art (that also doubles as beautiful venues), monuments to the history of the nation, and architecture.

Emily and Nick’s wedding ceremony took place at a church in Georgetown. We especially loved how the doors of the church open up to a blast of color from those iconic houses that line the streets of the area. After the ceremony we got to visit with Emily and Nick’s very sweet Bernese mountain dog– have we mentioned how much we love photographing dogs? Oh, we have? Okay then, moving on.

The Key Bridge Marriott wedding reception area has floor-to-ceiling windows that let you gaze upon the mighty Potomac and spot the Washington Monument on the DC skyline. If you dig gorgeous cosmopolitan vibes, this spot has them in spades.

No blog post is complete without some shouts to our fellow vendors, so without further adieu, shout-outs to:

  • Amphora Bakery for those with a sweet tooth
  • J Morris Flowers for the flowers (duh)
  • DJ Stacks for keeping the dance floor packed (seriously, it was tough to move because everyone was boogieing down!)
